Pastor Geofrey Explains the Urgency
People ask us what changes if someone sponsors a scholarship for a student serving in a developing nation. Quite honestly, it is not an understatement to say that your sponsorship could actually be what keeps the doors of a church open, and gives a pastor the legal right to continue pastoring in his country.
In Pastor Geofrey’s situation, legislation is pending to require pastors to have bachelor’s degrees or their churches will be closed. In neighboring Rwanda, 10,000 churches have already been closed. As Pastor Geofrey explains, rural pastors in Uganda can’t afford to go to college, and they can’t afford to be away from their churches and families.
