What is the bright spot in all of this heartbreak? Answered prayer!! God is hearing and answering our prayers for Philip and the persecuted Christians in Nigeria. What Philip told us yesterday seems straight out of the New Testament! Philip told us that God spoke to him, encouraging him to be courageous, and to speak clearly to the Muslims in his community, saying, “I AM has sent me to speak to you about His love for you.”

Nigerian church burned and Christians massacred by radical extremists

Evangelist P. resides and serves in a dangerous region of Nigeria with his wife and children. He has been a Fully Equipped Bible Institute student for over a year now, thanks to receiving an academic scholarship from a generous donor. Evangelist P. faithfully attends his online classes, as he views them as a source of encouragement and strengthening. His testimony is remarkable. As a result of the sound biblical education and practical training he is receiving, Evangelist P. has been profoundly impacted by the need to forgive the persecutors who are murdering the people around him, including women and children. As a result of this biblical revelation, he focuses his evangelistic efforts on sharing the love of Jesus with the radical extremists attempting to murder Christians.

Uganda bachelor's degree in theology needed to prevent church closure

Pastor W. serves in rural Uganda.  He is also a husband, father, and a diligent Fully Equipped Bible Institute student on scholarship, working on his bachelor's degree in theology. Yesterday he sent photos of his destroyed church building, asking for prayer.  The government bulldozed his building, home to several hundred Christians who are growing in faith and understanding of God's Word.

Drs. Steve and Vickie recently returned from Botswana.  After meeting with pastors and a highly placed government official, it has become evident that Botswana's churches are at risk of government censure and closure if pastors do not have a bachelor's degree in theology. The government official we met with stated that it is "Do or die time for Botswana's churches."

Uganda Bible College student Juliet Kakai serves as the church administrator for International Great Faith Ministries in Mbale, Uganda led by Pastor Paul Gidudu.   Pastor Paul oversees a network of approximately 1,000 pastors with churches throughout the region.  Their ministry is quite remarkable, including prison ministry, orphanages, evangelism, widows and elder care, as well as pastoral equipping and training.
