In some countries churches are banned. In others, bans are expanding. For example, 25% of African nations have passed or pending legislation that can lead to governments closing churches —especially when pastors do not hold recognized credentials such as a bachelor’s degree in theology. Rwanda has already closed over 10,000 churches. 

95% of pastors globally have no formal theological education, leaving them and their congregations vulnerable to false teaching and conversion to false religions.

How We Meet
The Need

As God provides the funds for scholarships, the Fully Equipped Bible Institute (FEBI) equips qualified pastors in at-risk nations with academically recognized, biblically sound, and immediately applicable education that leads to a bachelor’s degree completion.  The U.S. degree should protect the pastors and churches from forced government closures.

Investing in biblical training for pastors produces long-term Kingdom impact that is crucial to the future of the global Church. 

  • Immediate Multiplication: Pastors apply what they learn right away. Deeper faith and biblical depth protect against false teaching, which has caused tremendous damage in Africa.
  • Community Transformation: Discipleship impacts families, communities, and nations.In areas of persecution, believers are forgiving their persecutors and ministering to them, rejoicing as the persecutor becomes a believer.
  • Long-term Resilience: As pastors, believers, and churches grow stronger in faith through sound doctrine and biblical discipleship, hope, courage, and witnessing about Christ transform individuals, churches, communities, and nations even when daily life is very difficult.

Haiti in Crisis – Please Pray for the Church

We’re asking you to stop and pray with us today for the Church in Haiti.

In late August, an armed gang attacked a church in Kenscoff, near Port-au-Prince, that was sheltering families who had already fled earlier violence. Dozens of lives were lost, including children, and many more were taken captive. It’s one of the most devastating attacks on a church community we’ve seen reported in recent memory.

We must strengthen and equip pastors serving in dangerous places! From Pastor White in Uganda, “We discovered that the plot was from the Muslims who influenced the authorities to demolish the church with a strategy to scatter us, believing that when we fail to develop the place, they construct the mosque, and they move in while laughing and telling people that they have finished us. But as I speak, we have taken a step of faith by making bricks. So far, we have 600 blocks made by church members.”
